| A
lighting control system can control interior and exterior lighting
in many ways. Depending on the location, room or time of day,
when someone enters a room, steps on a pad, opens a door, or
with the press of a single button an automatic set of actions
can occur.
In one home, sensors detect movement and
in "night-mode" turn on and off as you walk through
the house, and can stay on as long as you wish.

In this project, we combined lighting controls
with other, new home automation features and now lights turn
up, music comes on, blinds close, the fireplace ignites, a
ceiling fan starts: whatever combination they wanted.
Besides being conected to phone lines and
the Internet, these lighting controls work off an astronomical
time clock, so it automatically knows what to do from season
to season.
